Outlawz member E.D.I. Mean has once again given hopes to fans who have been craving for an Outlawz documentary.
Appearing on Yukmouth TV for an exclusive interview, E.D.I. said the upcoming Outlawz documentary will “be epic” and he “can’t wait for ya’ll to see that.”
For years we have witnessed various docuseries, TV specials and a biopic focusing on the life of Tupac Shakur. The Outlawz, an important part of the Tupac’s life has yet to be highlighted. But, now it appears fans will finally get in-depth look at the Outlaw lifestyle.
“The documentary is going to fill in a lot of gaps,” E.D.I. Mean said. “It’s going to give you a lot of details. Me and Nob are look book ends. He’s the youngest member of the group. I’m one of the oldest members of the group. So everything in between we will be able to bring forth to everybody and give them some of the answers to their questions.”
This wouldn’t be the first time E.D.I. confirmed an Outlawz documentary project. Back in 2020, E.D.I. appeared on a live stream via The Lionel B Show where he spoke about the status on an Outlawz documentary.
“To be honest with you, we just locked down a deal with our producer partners and they handled all that,” E.D.I. revealed two years ago. “I really can’ speak on where its gonna go, but we will have an announcement for everybody once its all the way locked in, signed and sealed on the dotted line.”
Three years prior, Young Noble posted a photo of himself and fellow Outlawz member E.D.I. via his Instagram @young_noble and provided fans with his own teaser. Noble asked the fans whether they would believe him if he said an Outlawz movie was in the works.
“Me & my brotha @edidono4l got a hellava story to tell over 20 years dedicated to this Outlaw shit! If I told you we had a major movie based on our lives in the workz would you believe me? ,” Noble wrote in the caption back in 2017.
The Outlawz movie was slated to follow Tupac’s ‘All Eyez On Me’ biopic. Fast forward to 2022 and the Outlawz story will in fact be told, but in a documentary series, rather than a film. Which is good news for fans. A docuseries rather than a movie would allow the story to be told in more detail. This could be quite difficult to accomplish with the Outlawz consisting of seven members, time constraints could be an issue when trying to cramp so much into a 2 hour movie. An issue that was evident in the Tupac biopic ‘All Eyez On Me,’ as many felt the movie was rushed through.
