According to E.D.I. Mean, older and younger artists should collab more often. The valuable lessons that could be passed on to the newer generation should not be taken for granted. True to his words, E.D.I. and 24-year-old Yhung T.O. link to release ‘Souljahz 2 Generalz.’
The nine track project features Young Noble, Loui Paso, Marsalis Neal, Mackmason and MackMason. With production from Ol Man 80zz, Doughboy, 8 Track and others, the new project has undeniable hits such as ‘Preachin’ 2 The Choir’ and ‘Mobbin.’
“Nine songs. Nine bangers. It’s really like a long EP. It’s not even 30 minutes long, but every song is significant,” E.D.I. tells Hip Hop XXIV’s New Music Now. “It’s significant in its nature because for me it is the only project that I know of where a veteran that has been in the rap game for twenty plus years linking up with a younger artist.”
The two linked up back in 2019. Three years later and Yhung T.O., a fan of Tupac and the Outlawz, is now collaborating with a co-founder of the legendary hip hop group.
For Yhung T.O., his young music career has already seen many heights and skies the limit for the multi-talented artist. Former member of SOB x RBE, T.O. has now gone. From dropping his first solo tape in 2017 to his recent RBE Tape released in 2022.
