Zayd Malik, a.k.a. King Zayd, is ready for Outlaw RBG reunion at the 2022 Malcolm X Fest continuing a 25 year plus tradition while honoring his long time comrade Malik Killiam.
On May 21st, King Zayd, prepares a birthday celebration in which his parents and other founding members of the Malcolm X Grassroots movement having been putting on for over 25 years.
Over the years the event has held performances from the Outlawz, Dead Prez, The Last Poets and other notable names whose music speaks to Malcolm’s principles in some way. King Zayd, also has performed the majority of the years the festival has taken place.
Earlier this month, Zayd released his latest single “New Thug Life Order,” featuring Warchi7d, inspired by Tupac Shakur. “It’s a timely song. A song that attempts to add some sobriety to the game. Some balance. Some type of principle to consider,” Zayd told Tupac Uncensored. “It’s a song that attempts to continue Tupac’s legacy of unifying the street/ thug culture under one banner.”
Zayd will also dedicated this year’s event to his big brother and long time comrade, Malik Killiam. “Malik transitioned a few months ago. Over the years he and I had been what I would call a staple at the festival so to speak so coming out of the pandemic this being the first festival since,” King Zayd said exclusively to Outlaw 4 Life. “I felt it was only right to venerate his spirit and as well celebrate Malcolm X. So if you f–k wit the Outlaw or RBG movement, pull up. We gon’ have a “Million blunt cypher” in the back of the park. Meet me at the Mutulu tent. “
